Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Submission Guidelines

To maintain consistency and quality, authors should adhere to the following guidelines:

Font Type and Size:

  • Text: Arial, 12-point font.
  • Footnotes: Arial, 10-point font.

Line Spacing

  • Main Text: 1.5 spacing.
  • Footnotes: Single spacing.

Margins:

1-inch margins on all sides.

Citation Style:

Use the OSCOLA citation format for legal writing.

Word Limit:

  • Articles should be between 8,000 to 10,000 words, including footnotes.
  • Shorter commentaries of 3000 to 4,500 words are also encouraged.

Abstract:

Each submission must include an abstract of 250 words summarizing the key points of the paper.

Submission Format:

  • Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
  • Include a cover page with the title of the paper, author’s name, affiliation, and contact details.
  • The cover page should also include a brief biography of the author

Review Process

All submissions will undergo a blind peer-review process to ensure quality and relevance.

Formatting:

  • Use headings and subheadings to organize content clearly.
  • Avoid excessive use of legalese; aim for clarity and accessibility for a broad audience.

Ethical Standards:

Authors must ensure that their work is original and has not been published elsewhere. Proper attribution and acknowledgment must be given to all sources.
